Amber currently charges a 2% exchange fee for each Bitcoin purchase, and our direct debit provider charges 25 cents per transaction.

We're currently one of the cheapest in Australia, and our aim is to continue to bring that down as volume builds, so make sure you tell all your friends about Amber!

Amber stores all of your Bitcoin in cold storage. Cold storage involves keeping the Bitcoin in an offline reserve.

The BTC is purchased and locked almost instantly, once you have placed the purchase - The 'Bitcoin allocated, settlement pending' status is us waiting on the banks to settle the transaction.

The period a transaction will spend in this state is variable. It depends on a range of factors including your bank hours and holidays, transaction approvals and reconciliation.

We have found the typical time for pending balances to be anywhere from 3 to 4+ days.
